How has the world been treating you? Things were a bit rough with Mercury retrograde emphasizing the importance of slowing down, backing up our systems, and beginning the reviewing process as we moved into Virgo season.
Now, it’s September and we are officially prepping for fall. Fall equinox occurs in the Northern Hemisphere early Sunday morning on September 22. The equinox astrologically is marked by the Sun entering the sign of Libra.
This is my favorite season! Not only because my birthday is in October, but because I love watching the world begin to shift into a different energy. Like the world around us, we begin to slow down and reflect upon the past year.
Fall equinox energetically marks the descent into the underworld. It’s a time when we physically and psychologically go within. There are several myths that explain the shift of the seasons from summer to fall such as Demeter and Persephone or Isis and Osiris.
