Full Moon in Aquarius Meditation and Information

Hi lovies,

Welcome to our prep for the full moon in Aquarius meditation. I’m Kamilah Rose a mindfulness coach, yoga teacher, and spiritual adviser. You can find the meditation to follow here: Full Moon in Aquarius Meditation.

Before we begin, I would like to add some context to the full moon in Aquarius. This year, there are no planets currently in the sign of Aquarius other than the moon as it passes through the sign over the next few days. This will activate a square to Uranus the modern ruler of Aquarius and an opposition to the sun and Venus in Leo.

Leo season brings with it a glorious break from the emotionally complex energies of Cancer season. In Leo season we shift our focus more to our personal development, self-esteem, goals, and social activities. This is when it may be easiest to work on your identity because you can truly see yourself for who you are, if you are brave enough to do so. Or you may fall into the shadow of Leo and turn your face from the sun denying any personal issues that need to be addressed. In the shadow of Leo, fantasies of power and control influence your decisions ultimately disconnecting you from the very thing that you desire the most: truth and connection.

The Aquarius full moon brings us an important opportunity to zoom out from the Leo season spotlight and see the entire scene. As it turns out, a leader who cannot see their own imperfections and work with a team is not much of a leader – because who are they leading if they cannot even take charge of themselves?
Aquarius is fixed air. It carries the steadying energy of the season needed to actually make progress on what the cardinal signs start. In this case, Leo as fixed fire takes the emotional work done to create a home in ourselves and the environment during Cancer season and allows us to fully embody what we have created. As we have healed our emotional wounds we now receive the strength and courage to be seen for who we really are. To protect those that we care about out in the world. To step into the light knowing we have a safe place to retreat to when necessary. During the Aquarius full moon we get a chance to experience not only our internal light, but to receive the wisdom of a divine spark of innovation to drive us closer to individuation.

Aquarius balances many seemingly oppositional energies. First, Aquarius seeks to be independent, creative, to think outside of the box. Yet, at the same time, Aquarius also desires to have loyalty in it’s relationships, honesty, and deep intellectual connections. Saturn can give Aquarius a serious edge. Things need to make sense and be in order. If it doesn’t Aquarius will find a unique way to fix things. At the same time, Uranus gives Aquarius a desire to be free, to rebel against the status quo or societal expectations. Those systems that Saturn helps them identify as no longer working are often destroyed and rebuilt in ways we could never imagine through this planetary marriage.

In August, we experience an opportunity to build a vision of how we want our entire lives to be experienced. To examine the philosophies that guide us and make sure they are in alignment not only with our personal, but collective goals.
During the Aquarius full moon, take out your list of goals, intentions, or dreams and review them.

  • Are you thinking big enough?
  • Where could you leave space for innovation or creativity?
  • Are you following your own path or one that was suggested to you by family/friends/society?
  • Get clear on what you would like to leave behind during this time. What is not true or authentic for you.

Next week we have 8/8 Lion’s Gate which is the perfect chance to manifest your deepest desires. The following week we have the Leo new moon on Wednesday, August 16th. This is the time when we will lay to rest our old selves. The versions of us who no longer serve us, to step fully into the self we have been building during the Season of Water (summer). Lastly, we end the month with the second full moon of the month in the sign of Pisces. Pisces, like Aquarius is a sign of expansion and the collective. It includes the depths of our subconscious, our dreams, our connection with spirit and the divine.

Aquarius and Pisces are reflections of each other. Fixed air and mutable water. This is the lightening bolt from the heavens striking the primordial waters of the earth sparking new life. The completion of the astrological journey though the full moon cycle, while we are experiencing a shift into the slower, darker months heading into fall equinox.

I wish you the happiest of Full Moon’s my loves.
