The Great Exchange: Aries and Pisces in 2025

Hi my loves,

Happy Winter Solstice! May this new season be a time when you can reflect and recharge. We have a busy 2025 coming up full of changes and opportunity if you’re brave enough to take them.

One of the biggest shifts will be Neptune moving from it’s home in Pisces to Aries and the North Node moving from Aries to Pisces. To learn more about the North and South Nodes click HERE.

Let’s start with the Nodes and Aries. The North Node in Aries guides us to embrace ourselves without compromise. The lure of the South Node gives us the skills of Libra to assist in navigating the resistance and opposition that this may bring up for those around us who are not used to us holding strong boundaries. Yet, the Libra South Node comes with the temptation to please people, manipulate, and lie by omission. Libra South Node says to do whatever you have to to keep the peace because it will be easier then rocking the boat. Aries North Node, looks forward to the challenge of defending and sharing our truth regardless of the response. Let’s take a closer look at Aries energy

Aries is the first sign of the Western Zodiac. Ruled by Mars, Aries is associated with acts of aggression such as war, anger, and conflict. Aries though is not that simple. As the first sign, Aries represents the fervor of giving and taking life. The energy needed to burst forth from the womb and present ourselves to the world. This energy is also needed when we are going through a rebirthing cycle. As such, Aries is a sign which represents life, passion, and desire. The willingness to fight for our survival against the odds. As Cardinal Fire, Aries is the engine that starts off the Western Zodiac wheel (mandala) turning. Here, Aries is the hero or heroine starting their long journey towards glory and honor.

Pisces, on the other hand, is the last astrological sign of the Western Zodiac. Pisces, traditionally ruled by Jupiter, is a sign of significant expansion into the unknown realm. This could be seen through a spiritual, physical, or psychological lens. Regardless of the path taken to get there, Pisces brings us back to a sense of wholeness and completion. A sensitive sign, Pisces can connect to everything around them giving them the unique opportunity to achieve individuation and ascension. Everyone had Pisces someone in their chart, providing this opportunity to everyone. Due to their sensitivity, Pisces shadow seeks to find distractions from the intensity of its existence through escapist tendencies such as substance misuse (drug, food, etc.) and losing themselves in activities such as scrolling social media, needing to control their environment (Virgo opposition), cults, and any other option that allows them to lose touch with reality. Pisces modern ruler is Neptune, the planet of illusions, visions, dreams, and the conscious/unconscious. Neptune is the window to the soul, which only a few ever take the chance to look through.

With Pisces, we find ourselves in different spaces. Steven Forrester outlines these in his work The Book of Water. We have the surface where we are caught in the ocean’s waves, tossed to and fro. There is little control here and a barrage of sensory input being received at all times. But just below the surface, we find a bit of peace. Yet, there we have an influx of social activities. The schools of fish and other ocean life pull us into their orbit. Pisces can get caught up in the thrill of social interaction, healing, and connecting with others around them. Then Pisces can begin to see the patterns of human behavior, both their own and others. They get into the inner work of psychology. Why we do what we do. From there, they span out by going deeper. These patterns are not just among people but are seen across cultures and time through the concept of an Archetype. The wise old man, the child (hero/god), the mother, the daughter, the shadow, anima, and animus are found in all of us. For Pisces, this discovery helps them to step back from the individual and see the bigger picture. Pisces continues to dive deeper and become lighter at the same time. From there, they know that it is all connected. The mandala of life goes round and round. From source/God/Universe, we find reflections of ourselves playing out through archetypes and each other.

Pisces is both the drop of water and the ocean. One and all at the same time. How they deal with this existence is their task. Aries is the bursting forth of new life that comes from returning to the self/source.

Neptune has been comfortably in Pisces opening doors for all of us to connect back to the Self (the archetype) and source. The level that we travel through this process will be different for everyone. How they dealt with the shadow of being overwhelmed by the connection also differs. Neptune, moving into Aries, is the shift from inner work to outer work. Who are you now that you have gone through this transformation? What do you DO with that energy?

The North Node moving into Pisces from Aries gives us the inverse of this energy. We were encouraged to stand up for ourselves and find what it means to be the hero in our lives. Now, in Pisces, the North Node will ask us to look at how we, as individuals, are a part of the whole. We need to take the challenge of being able to see ourselves as individuals AND as one while the world pushes us to separate.

We get a fascinating glimpse into this energy as Venus retrogrades from Aries to Pisces in March. I’ll talk about that in the next post.

For now, meditate on the archetypes of Aries and Pisces.

  • The warrior and the priestess.
  • They mystic and the emperor.
  • The CEO and the healer.
  • The Child Hero and the Wise Elder

See you soon,
