Hello lovies,
Aquarius is the energy of freedom, individuality, and thinking outside of the box. Traditionally ruled by Saturn, Aquarius is the outcome of Saturn in Capricorn. Capricorn is the light in the darkness. The ability to stick to something so that we are able to survive through the hardest of times while also being able to put in the hard work so we can enjoy life’s pleasures. If we are able to commit to the long haul for the things that matter and let go of the extra fluff, we find ourselves at Aquarius. The Aquarius task is to allow yourself to go against the grain and follow your own path.
Aquarius modern ruler is Uranus, the planet of sudden changes, revolutions, and deconstruction. Aquarius energy invites us to do things differently. We may go completely against our personal norm, our family, our community, society, or the expectations of the world. That’s Aquarius energy in motion. In order to have something to go against, there must be a rule or norm. That’s where Saturn comes in. Saturn sets the standard.
Over the past couple of months, we’ve had to get quiet and go within to connect with our inner fire and spirit. What do we do with this, though? Perhaps you realize that your light needs some tending, and there are some changes that you need to make to allow it to grow or shine brighter. You can begin that change process by examining your attachments and habits.
- Do they make your light grow?
- Do you feel enriched by your habits, rituals, and behaviors?
- Do they serve a greater purpose, or are you doing these things because they are what you SHOULD be doing?
- Who is the author of that should? Your partner, parents, friends, community?
Part 2 is looking at how you feel and what emotions you are experiencing. Taking note of the frustration, the joy, the fear, the embarrassment, helps us to see where things are or are not in alignment in our lives.
This work can feel intense when we do it alone, but luckily you don’t have to. Book some time with me and let’s start the process of identifying what you inner fire needs by integrating those aspects of your unconscious.
Part 3 brings us to the body. These emotions will align with physical sensations. You’ll feel the emotion somewhere in your body. Bringing attention to the emotion that comes up and then finding where it lies in your body tells us another part of the story.
One of my favorite myths is Psyche and Eros. In this myth, Aphrodite gives Psyche various 4 tasks. The 4th being to enter the underworld and retrieve some of Persephone’s beauty to help replenish Aphrodite’s. Psyche agrees, but as she has done every other time she decides the only way she can enter death is through throwing herself from a tower. The tower though intervenes. The tower tells her that there is another way to enter the underworld. The Tower represents our physical forms and the wisdom that we can receive from them particularly in times of distress.
In Tarot, the Tower Card can mean that we are experiencing an unexpected upheaval in our lives. It might feel like everything is falling apart around us. The Tower is struck by lightening and begins to crumble. From the tower, 2 individuals fall head first towards the ground. Their crowns are broken open in order to force them to look at the world from a different angle. They may be struck by inspiration in the same way that the tower is struck by lightening if they allow themselves to get out of their everyday way of being – the habits, rituals, and environment that keeps them trapped in their patterns. From the tower also fall Yods of fire, because within each of us lives the fire of our spirit or our purpose. Sometimes we need an extreme reset. We have held on to the way things have always been so long that they have to be forcibly removed or changed through perhaps a health crisis, a financial crisis, or other earthly issue that arises for us.
But if we can allow ourselves to be broken open just a bit, we can begin to see that there is another route. Another path.
The Astrology of the Moment:
Doing the inner work reveals where your dreams may need more time, more structure, more concrete plans. Mars and Jupiter in Gemini in conjunction are highlighting that your interest, your voice, your gifts deserve time and attention. Learn what you can about them. Allow yourself to dive into them.
Jupiter has been expanding your desire to learn and grow. If you’ve been working with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, it has helped to narrow and define your dreams/goals.
If you have not, Jupiter may have been pulling you in different directions, leaving you feeling unmoored and dissatisfied.
The past two full moons have been invitations to clear your head and cut off what does not support your next steps. Have you been brave enough to act? To let go?
With the sun in Leo, we have Venus and Mercury conjunct in Virgo, a time of magic and manifestation. Mercury has been in retrograde, serving as Mercurius, the trickster who uses his wiles to get us back to ourselves. The lessons we have been supposed to learn will have been highlighted by whatever may have been going wrong or acting up over the past month. Listen to the Trickster. Come back to center. Take that wisdom from this lesson that is coming up. This is time to heal that wound where you felt you had to hide who you were to be accepted, thus creating shadows.
It’s time to be brave and go after that dream you’ve always had – take the classes, write the book, create the course, apply for the job, develop your relationships, and develop yourself.
Make a wish upon a star. With no fear and no limits. That in-between space is where the magic happens. There is a lesson you have learned. It’s time to put that wisdom into action.
With love,
Kamilah Rose
