Nodes Across Time: Pisces and Virgo

Hi my loves,

We explored Aries and Libra in our prior post; now, let’s move to Pisces and Virgo. The Aries North Node gives us the gift of authenticity, courage, and transforming will into creation. It is a place where we find clarity of inner knowledge to answer the question, “Who are you?” The North Node then moves back into Pisces, asking us, “Can you hold onto who you are while also opening to source/God/universe?”

Pisces gives us a glimpse into everything that is bigger than us, into the space where we are all one. It takes time to get to that point, though, through many trips of the nodes around the zodiac. We are invited by the North Node in Pisces to step outside of the binary. That is the work of Aries. To bring together the unconscious and conscious coming back to the Self as one. 1+1=3.

In Pisces, the North Node may have us tossing among the waves or caught up in trying to save everyone else as the community therapist. Perhaps they can see the patterns and recognize that this is bigger than us; these are gods and goddesses at work here. Or they could see beyond that to the Archetypes that cross cultures and time. Finally, they may catch a glimpse of awareness that these separate pieces reflect a singular Source. This is a balm to the shadow of Pisces and Virgo. Pisces shadow side gets overwhelmed by these energies and seeks any form of distraction that they can find. Sometimes this leads to use of unhealthy coping mechanisms that can be addictive. Virgos shadow side is centered on turning that critical eye towards themselves and the idea of perfection through purity.

Through their connection to the source, Pisces and Virgo can shift that focus away from fear of being overwhelmed and unworthy towards knowing that they are a reflection of the creator. And in that knowledge, they are worthy and capable of thriving within this world.

Here, we find an opportunity for Pisces to utilize the South Node in Virgo’s gifts to assist them. Virgo is what I like to think of as the Assessor. They can shift through the harvest, systems, habits, and reality to find what needs to be changed, discarded, or transformed. Virgos offers service to others through their ability to identify improvements and put them into action. Concerning the South Node moving from Libra to Virgo, Virgo is in service, not because they appease others, but because this is what they have worked towards to move themselves closer to an ideal version of themselves. This is the work that matters – work that serves others.

As Pisces grows and finds their light, how can they use this greater connection to something bigger then themselves to be of service to themself and others?

How can they take the tendency to feel overwhelmed by the immensity of Source and create a healthy coping mechanism?

The key is in the shadow of the opposition. Ground yourself in a practice or behavior that brings you closer to that ideal. Judge yourself by the INTENSITY of your effort, not by if you are meeting the goal or expected outcome. You can find examples of these practices or behaviors by looking at the house Pisces rules in your natal chart. This can show you how to build a habit around making the mundane sacred. It is not a morning routine but a morning ritual.

Be mindful of not leaning into the shadow of Virgo, as this can lead toward your self-worth being attached to completing the task. This ritual is not about doing a particular action in a specific way. It is about the intention. Thus, if you cannot do your daily ritual, you have not failed. Your efforts are not worthless. Treat yourself as you believe that Source would treat you – with kindness and acceptance. And if your understanding of Source is harsh and cruel, we will get to that during the North Node in Capricorn and Sagittarius.

The energy of Virgo is further amplified in 2025 as this is a 9 year. According to Kathleen Roquemore in It’s All in the Numbers, 9 energy leads us “to learn and demonstrate love on a universal scale. You are by nature charitable and compassionate and give selfless service because you are something of a humanitarian”. Does this sound familiar? We do not conflate astrology and numerology, but the connections can be interesting to put into practice.

Pisces teaches us that we are like a single drop in the ocean—unique and part of the whole. Both and at the same time. We exist outside of the limitations that we and others place upon us.

From there, we move from the I AM self-awareness of the North Node in Aries to the cosmic wholeness in Pisces to the alchemical individuation process of combining the individual with the collective in Aquarius. This leans on incorporating the lessons of conflict resolution, confrontation, and peace with the South Node in Libra to identify issues and activate healthy solutions in Virgo to embrace self-expression and social discernment in Leo.

But we will talk more about the Aquarius/Leo axis in the next post.

With love,

Kamilah Rose
