Hi, my loves,
It’s been a minute hasn’t it? I’m happy to be back sharing a little about the energy of this upcoming Venus transit as it retrogrades from Scorpio back into Libra this fall.
When Venus goes retrograde, like all planets in retrograde, this is an invitation to review the subjects under her domain. A Venus retrograde will reveal the conscious and unconscious aspects of ourselves that are present or being projected into our current relationships, connections, and contracts.
Venus goes retrograde in 2026 in the sign of Scorpio before moving back into Libra. Here we start, with Venus as the detective or psychoanalyst who is dedicated to depth. Venus wants to dive in as deeply as they can into their relationships and connections. They want to know as much as they can to establish a sense of trust, which builds the foundation for true intimacy. It will become startlingly clear where we lack connection, fear the work that is needed to establish it, and where we have been accepting or projecting our unconscious onto the other.
Venus going retrograde in Scorpio reinforces its connection to Mars. When Venus is in Scorpio, we must be aware and mindful of the shadow of superstition and fear. Too often, Venus in Scorpio will shut itself off from its connections because it begins to doubt that it can trust those around it. They are afraid. But instead of being vulnerable and upfront, they put up their walls to keep others out.
Venus then moves back home into Libra. Here, we are asked to again review our relationships, but this time we are to determine where we may be compromising more than what is healthy for us. Are our relationships balanced? Do they bring us a sense of mental peace? Are they pleasing to us in a way that makes us find internal balance? What of beauty and creativity? This is also a time to review any contractual obligations we may be under. We forget at times that our society is built on a social contract. Are you in agreement with what you have signed up for, or is it time for a change?
The shift from Scorpio to Libra brings conversations around trust and harmony to the forefront. When we are moving from the depths back to the door of the liminal, it can feel as if we are given a chance to rewrite our stories related to balance, peace, and trust. Let us go a bit deeper. When our trust is broken, for whatever reason the work to heal and correct requires complete honesty. We must be honest about what has happened, what we desire and whether we truly believe that our current connections can provide the safety and security needed to develop a healthier relationship. That applies not only to how we relate to the other, but how we relate to ourselves. Do you trust yourself? Can you be vulnerable with yourself enough to be honest? If not, then your connections will reflect that.
I do not subscribe to the belief that our realities are created completely based on what we think, believe, and do. We are social creatures who live in societies with others. We are always co-creating. But that does not mean that we do not influence or impact what happens. Venus retrogrades are always opportunities to consider the role we are playing in our relationships. Not to blame ourselves, but to identify where we have power and influence to change things. This encourages us to explore what is and is not in our power. That is an underlying aspect of Scorpio energy. Scorpio, traditionally ruled by Mars, is always concerned with power and how it impacts our ability to survive. Mars specifically examines our coping mechanisms. In Scorpio, that looks like a collective idea of taboos related to what is socially determined to be acceptable and unacceptable behaviors. These shift and change overtime, meaning that we should be kind to ourselves when we find ourselves at odds with what is considered to be the cultural norm.
Are we basing our desires and what does or doesn’t work in our relationships on our own awareness and sense of safety or comfort in our bodies, or are we based on what is expected culturally? What is the fear here? Social ostracization. Luckily, Mars gives us the courage to walk our own path if we are willing to be honest with ourselves. The move from Scorpio to Libra highlights the importance of finding peace in our connections. Do they make us feel balanced or unbalanced? Do they bring us peace of mind or stress? Those are the hallmarks that we are looking for. Not to avoid stress or live a life where we put our heads into the sand, but to offer us more data on what is and what isn’t working. There we are required to learn how to have the difficult conversations around what is on our minds. That is the crux of Libra energy. Are we facing or avoiding conflict?
Venus remains in retrograde from October 3rd to November 14. Then we will be within the retrograde shadow period until December 4th.
That closes out our 2026 cycle and prepares us for the 2027.
With love,
Kamilah Rose
