Greetings beloveds,
Welcome to Day 6 loves! Now it’s time for the good stuff and if you’re like me we’re all thinking the same thing. That’s right time to add some food to this heart connection equation!
Now of course your first thought may be chocolate or more specifically cacao the bean that is used to create chocolate. Originating in the Orinoco Valley of Venezuela, the Theobroma cacao tree eventually made its’ way to Mexico where chocolate/cacao is most often referenced to having originated from. Chocolate is associated with health benefits to the heart and mood. These benefits can best be obtained through the consumption of either cacao powder or semi-sweet dark chocolate. Cacao powder can be found generally in your local store in the backing section but depending on your leanings in environmental sustainability and ethical working conditions check out this site for Ethical Chocolate Companies. I love to use cacao power in my chocolate dishes such as cakes, brownies, smoothies, hot chocolate and pudding. You can check out my hot chocolate recipe here for a delicious warm drink that is full of spices that are associated with love and the heart chakra.
If you are looking for a savory option look for dishes that feature red foods such as beets, red bell peppers, red onions, tomatoes or red beans. A decadent pasta, salad, or taco dish would be the perfect way to display a variety of red foods. Let’s not forget the importance of spices and herbs associated with love and the heart chakra such as chili pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, or saffron which can create a medley of flavors to activate your taste buds. It’s still a bit cold but it’s quickly warming up so here is an easy dish to make whether you are bundled up still in hibernation or coming out of the cave ready to feel the sun on your face again as we head into spring.
