Rest: New Moon in Taurus

Hello lovies!

I’ve fallen fully into the energy of the New Moon in Taurus by answering the call to rest and appreciate the world around me. This might have felt like a call to spend time with friends, family, and loved ones including some “me” time. Here’s a quick breakdown of where the planets are for the new moon. I found as I tried to sit down and write out all the elements of this phase, that I just wanted to rest. To read, have a warm drink, eat comfort food, be outside and sleep. All in all this seemed to sum up Taurus energy in a healthy space taking into account my own energetic needs and cycles. To take ownership of who I am and what I have been blessed with.

What a delightful message from Taurus, that beauty is not all about the physical but holistic in nature. We are beautiful when we let our true selves shine.

I’ve been reading up on all of the astrology things. I love to explore my own chart but I realized I was avoiding signs that were not prominent in my chart, such as all of the Earth signs. Reading up on their magic and what they bring to the zodiac has been so refreshing. Another element of this new moon is to explore areas of interest that you may have avoided. You might find that embracing a slower pace of appreciation allows you to dig deeper into your talents and interests. Tackle some of the mysteries and fears from this brave space of Taurean peace and security.

Sun, Moon in Taurus in 8th house

Taurus energy in the house y’all! Stability, grounding, and ownership of all that lovely Aries energy from the start of the year. Taurus in the 8th house is considering how what we have inherited, such as our personal talents, define our values. On a greater level, we are looking at how our sense of self is impacted by what we have inherited from our families, communities, and environment.

Mercury and Venus in Aries with Uranus in Taurus in the 7th house

Mars in Gemini in the 9th house

Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 3rd house

Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn in 4th house

Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn square to Mercury and Venus in Aries in 7th house

Neptune in Pisces in 6th house square to Mars in Gemini in 9th house and Jupiter in Sagittarius in 3rd house

Read over this quickly and then go for a walk or take a nap. Take care of yourself.

April Writing Prompt

Good morning lovies,

April brings us fully into the Aries/I AM energy. As the first Western zodiac sign, the beginning of a new season, and the representation of the Magician card we look at our WILL. What we are able to create through our desires, strength, and refusal to give up because we believe so deeply that we can MANIFEST from our own sovereign power.

28 Days of Love 2019

Greetings loves,

I hope that you are taking time to care for yourself after the chaos of 2018. Change is coming and quickly. Over the next month as many focus on chocolates and bears, we here at The Bliss Institute dedicate each February to 28 Days of shamelessly loving ourselves and each other. Each week we focus on bringing a specific aspect of our being into alignment with source and love. The first week we focus on our heart energy via the heart chakra. During the second week, we examine the relationship between our thoughts and our hearts. The third week, we move to engage the body in heart felt connection. Lastly, we will explore ways to transform our living and other spaces that we occupy into nurturing areas of support and love.

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. This month we are looking to encourage and fill our love meters in a time when making it through each day may be all that we can do. You deserve to take a moment to nurture yourself. Focus on what you can give yourself even if it’s just a moment to breathe and hopefully a bit of time to complete some of these exercises. Here’s to 28 Days of Love.

Queen of Heaven and Earth

Greetings beloveds,

This has been a busy season hasn’t it? There’s a meme that says “Capricorns are so boring, I forgot it was even your season”. No offense, but it’s true. I distinctly can remember the energy of Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius season. Now, in Capricorn season it seems very active but in a different way. At the winter solstice we reach the 7th gate of the underworld. We lay down our physical form to embrace the spirit of death and change. We enter the 8th gate to explore our subconscious dreams. The things that we only dare to express in the quiet of our journals.

There’s the celebration with friends and family, the liminal space of the time outside of time between the holy-days and the honoring of our pasts in the Gregorian new year. Then it’s go time. We rise from the 8th gate and begin our ascension. What do you leave behind? What do you take with you? We clear out our homes, set goals, buy a gym memberships, and fill our fridges with fresh vegetables. Yet, when we look at the astrology of this time in 2019, it is ruled by the energy of Saturn. Of planning, organizations, structure, time.

Inanna, who has made it clear for me that this is her preferred time of year to be honored. At what other time are we so clearly connected to the earth and the heavens. When a powerful narrative of the birth of a King being foretold by the stars in the sky is so richly woven through Western culture. Another narrative exists though. One of a Queen. A Queen who was selfish, strong, self-assured, slightly narcissistic, determined, ambitious, kind, and giving. A Queen who knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to go after it even if that meant playing some tricks along the way. The kind of tricks that gained her the 7 ME’s, brought her life where only the dead were allowed to tread, and eventually lead to her transformation from Queen to Goddess.

When thinking of Inanna, I remember her feisty side. She was so active and alive. She made me want to be like her. Brave. Secure or perhaps foolish enough to defy all expectations to accomplish her goals. She didn’t wait for anyone to give her permission. She made a decision and acted. I think about her in relation to winter, the stillness that seeps into our lives. It seems so far removed from her stories, yet this is the time when she wants to be heard.

What wisdom does she have to share with us? To slow down instead of rushing into things. We don’t always know what lies beyond the next gate. We cannot be sure that our beloved will mourn for us when we leave. That even with all the power, beauty, and magic of the world we still experience loss. We still make mistakes and have to make amends for what we have done. Above all else we have to do better. When we rise from the depths of the underworld and are initiated into a new form it is a gift. One that no one else has had the honor to receive. We should treat this experience with respect and to assist others. At the very least to help ourselves.

Find Your Water Type: Solid, Liquid or Gas

IN PARIS (1)

Greetings beloveds,

We are firmly in the season of water, rebirth, and healing. To expand our concepts of how we relate to water let’s talk about the different versions of water and how we take on these characteristics.

Solid: When water is  a solid, the molecules are moving slower and spread out taking up more space. This makes them less dense so that ice weighs less than water as a liquid. Ice represents slowing down and taking our time. It is the energy of observation, being outside of time, and rumination. When we are dealing with heavy issues we need that density to feel closer to the earth and ground ourselves in the reality of what needs to be addressed.

Shadow: When it is too cold, there is a limitation in what is possible because everything SLOWS down. During the winter, in areas that experience ice and snow, this type of weather can bring death. Either from blocking access to resources, freezing temperatures, or other complications. In all forms water can give life and water can take life. When we slow down to the point where we are frozen in place no longer growing or living fully, we lose our most valuable resource: time.

Liquid: This is the form of water we are most familiar with. It is the water we drink, use to cook, bath, clean, play, and restore our souls. This is the energy of temperance-balance. Too cold and it begins to freeze. Too hot and it’s uncomfortable to work with. Yet water flows throughout our world providing life without discrimination.

Shadow: Anyone who has ever been in a thunderstorm, tropical storm, hurricane or other weather occurrence knows the power of water in it’s liquid form. On the other hand, not having enough water is just as catastrophic causing our bodies, the land, all living things to eventually shrivel up and die. Through the shadow of liquid water, we come to appreciate the importance of balance, compassion, and the fragility of life. We realize that in order to survive we must take care of ourselves and each other, otherwise we will perish.

Gas: Vapor as the form of water that is least visible is as a gaseous state. It is ALWAYS present around us. Vapor represents the lighter side of water energy that does more than flows, it flies. The same element that fuels our body and allows for us to create also calls us to throw off the baggage which keeps us captive. Vapor is free of restraints and cannot be contained. It is the spark of life that lifts us out of the doldrums into the freedom of infinite space.

Shadow: What could be the shadow of such a light and airy form of water? Lack of depth. When we move to far into our imaginations, lack connections to our physical realm, or avoid responsibilities because they feel like “too much” we eventually evaporate into air. We completely disconnect from who we are and where we came from. Although it is tempting to not have anything that holds you down or has negative energy, without doing the work we miss the opportunity to grow. Allow yourself to expand without forgetting that this is a process that will bring you back to this moment of weightlessness again and again.
