Clear it Out: A Smoothie for Releasing

Make-Green-Smoothies-for-the-Whole-Family.jpg (600×746)Greetings beloveds,

I hope you all are having a beautiful new year. With the setting of goals, intentions, and resolutions many are looking to change, renew, or improve their health through their eating habits and lifestyle. For me, this past year has been a struggle for me to maintain a consistent diet (eating habits) and movement schedule. I would get into a good flow and then get scooped out of it through travel, work obligations, spiritual quests, and emotional personal events. The blessing that came from this was a bit of freedom as I had to let go of my strict routine and begin to let the experiences that wanted to be in my life come through. Now you may be thinking, food doesn’t have that much power or that much purpose. I beg to differ. If truly, all is made of energy and that energy has its own drive and direction then the atoms that make up food also has these qualities. We align or do not align with that flow. So as we work to release resistance and fear (how many times have we demonized different types of foods from fats, salt, and even meat) throughout our lives here’s a quick recipe for a soup that will get you going *wink wink* in more ways than one.

Rose’s Clear You Out Smoothie

1 Tablespoon of Chia Seeds

2-3 Stalks of Fennel

Handful of Dandelion Root

4-5 Leaves of Kale

2 Stalks Celery

1 Lemon

2 Apples (Honey Crisp are delicious)

Here’s to getting things moving in the New Year!

28 Days of Love: Basking in the Glow of Love

Screen-shot-2012-07-23-at-12.57.02-PM.png (558×310)

Greetings beloveds,

Can you believe it? 28 Days of Love is coming to a close today. Over the past 4 weeks we have connected with our heart, mind, body, and home/living spaces to find clarity and bring ourselves into alignment with the energy of love.

How do you feel? Take a moment to integrate the information and lessons that you have learned over the past month into your life completely. It may take some time to feel and know what changes you have made or may still need to make. Behavior and thought process changes enhance our states of being. Above all else I hope that this time has brought about compassion for yourself and others. Love is so much more than warm fuzzy feelings. It is the basis of our existence. Through love we find ourselves. Through love we find our purpose.

So I send you forth with love, always and forever.

28 Days of Love: The Physiology of the Mind

iStock_000022240209Small.jpg (766×627)

Greetings beloveds,

I hope that the exercises and information that has been shared about how our thoughts affect our reality have been useful for you. Changing the way we think effects the energy we attract and in turn the types of relationships that we will have with ourselves and others. Yet it is also important to understand how the brain works so for today we have  a bit of homework to do.

I’ve compiled this quick list of links to sites that cover the physiology and functions of the brain.

Web MD- Brain Human Anatomy

Inner Body- Human Brain and Nervous System

Brain HQ – The Brain in Love

Harvard Mahoney Neuroscience Institute – Love and the Brain

Now that we have an idea of how the brain works and how it interacts with what we have come to recognize as love some of your behaviors and patterns in relating to others may make more sense. Overall, how we relate to others depends on how we have been trained and what we have found works  (or at least we justify that it should work) to get us the results we desire.

If you haven’t already test it out. Take note of how you feel when you are around a person, animal, or thing that you love. Then note how you feel when you eat certain foods such as chocolate or others that personally for you have positive associations. Do you find that you are experiencing similar feelings in both situations? Take notes and let me know what you find out.

With love as always,

Full Moon in Scorpio: Embrace the Transformation

Full Moon In Scorpio

Greetings beloveds,

I hope you are all well. I know that there is A LOT going on right now energetically that could be affecting your equilibrium right now. On April 14th we had Jupiter sextile Pluto which held our hand as we moved to do incredible things. To move ourselves closer to our dreams. The 17th saw Chiron enter Aries while Saturn goes retrograde. We are healing our relationship to ourselves and how we interact with each other. This is highlighted by the sun moving into Taurus on the 19th who is called us to awareness of the beauty of our foundation and “home”. If we expand the definition of home to include our mind, hearts, spirit, and body, then home becomes something that we always have access to. Let us find the beauty in that space. April 17th also is the start of retrograde season! I wrote about the planets in retrograde that you can read about here. On the 19th Pluto in Capricorn joins Saturn in Scorpio in retrograde. This is an intense time of healing in so many ways.

One of the first areas that we will experience healing is in our heart space. With the planets in retrograde, sun in Taurus, and full moon in Scorpio we are deep within our feeling spaces. Strong beautiful moments when we are fully open and aware. This might feel painful because we are clearing out the experiences that have anchored us to our past. These experiences will range from ecstatic love to deep trauma.  Take a tip from Scorpio and find a space where you feel safe and secure. Perhaps a dark quiet place that is very comfortable.

As we are in the depths of our psyche and the underworld with Scorpio, Saturn, and Pluto this is a great time to tap into the wisdom of the deepest parts of the ocean.

Ritual

Time to develop our own form of trimethylamine oxide (TMAO) the molecule that helps proteins work at high pressure. The animals that survive in the depths of this region survive off the remains of those that float down after their death. What have you released over the past few months? Release their remains so that you can transform.

Optional Supplies:

Water, tea, or red drink of your choice. Pick something that makes you feel warm and powerful (ex: cinnamon, fig, mulberry, rose, mugwort, and lavender –  Click here for a list of cleansing herbs/foods).

a candle that is red, orange, yellow, or your personal power color

Ritual

Dress your candle if you would like to increase the power of this intention.

Take 3 deep breaths and see yourself moving through fog towards a lake. See the small boat tied to the edge of the lake with a single lantern hanging from it’s bow. Enter the boat and as you sit, it moves on its’ own disappearing into the mist. You feel no fear, only resolve to complete your journey.

The boat stops in the middle of the lake. You look around you unsure of what is next. There is a gentle splash near you. You turn towards the sound and a figure beneath the surface. You watch it swim under the water, curious. Slowly, the rather large being stops beneath your boat.

Slowly from the depths an object rises facing you. With a calm demeanor deep eyes stare into yours and find yourself facing an ancient being of a time long forgotten. It is the water dragon. A creator that has existed in your soul forever. You close your eyes not quite believing what you are seeing. The dragon moves closer to you and you reach out. Your hand tentatively reaches out touching the rough wet scales. The dragon nudges your hand closing its’ eyes. You do the same feeling a spark arise.

You are transported to a cave. What color do you see? Is it light or dark? The dragon is wrapped around an egg of light and you step forward. The dragon rises to meet you. You reach for the egg and to your surprise it dissolves into your hands with a bright flash of light.

Once upon a time, you were different. Another being who lived a life that you do not recognize. There were friends, family, situations that you encountered during that time that you released so that you could cross the lake and take this journey. The person you used to be has been transformed, reborn. What was left has now been repurposed, transformed.

Take three deep breaths. What do you see around you? What does that cave look like now? Is there anyone there? Take note of your space.

The light slowly dims and you find yourself back on the boat. The dragon nudges your hand giving you its blessing. As it moves back under the water you hear a word whispered in your mind. It is the name of the dragon. You may use this to call the energy of transformation to you whenever you may need its guidance or support. The water dragon is one of your greatest allies. It holds the wisdom of the depths beyond the light.

Hold your candle in your left hand and transfer some of the energy you absorbed from the egg. When you feel ready light the candle.

Now place your hand over your drink. Again, send some of the energy from the egg to the drink. Feel it being empowered by your will to adapt and thrive. When you ready consume your drink. Take that energy into yourself with purpose. You are a complete whole being who THRIVES in all spaces including the depths of the sea/soul. Embrace it. Feel it. Know it.

Finish this ritual with a bath or shower. Cleanse your body of what was so that you have fully engage with what you have become.

Happy Full Moon!!

12 Universal Laws: The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy

12-universal-laws

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy

Do you recall that energy cannot be either destroyed or made it is simply transformed? This is the basis of the Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy, our 8th Universal Law. Our world is constantly changing even when it appears to be the same. Our bodies shed and make new cells, tissues, and organs. The air shifts becoming new each moment. It is how our world works. What we do with information determines how we function in this world. Some of us will read this and go about our daily lives not really making any changes. Others will become slightly more aware of what all is occurring around them. Then there are those who will harness this knowledge and turn it into a Law that works in their favor. How? By changing the way that they interact and perceive the world around them. There are awful circumstances that exist in this world. Things can be difficult, painful, and for some even deadly. Change is not always kind, healthy, or for our good but things ARE changing. Every chance that you get try to focus on things improving. Spend time figuring out where you would like for your life to take you and look for the changes that can shift energy towards that goal. It won’t happen overnight and it might seem like it never happens. But things will change, it is inevitable. Let us work together to make this a change for the better. Even if just a little.

Here’s to making every change count (did you catch that reference to Titanic?).

Moon Phases: Waning Crescent Part I

autumn moments (1)

Greetings beloveds,

I rose this morning thinking of the body. How the body moves and interacts with the energies of our world. The energies of the worlds that exist around us. The moon pulls on us. Physically bringing ourselves into alignment. I am feeling this intensely. I feel the draw to nest, to chat, to move, to shine. It moves with the ebb and flow of the astrological signs which align with the constellations. Yet, I would like to complicate this narrative over the next few days as we reach the new moon.

I looked it up and Mondays’ Moon was in the same phase and illumination as the Moon was at my birth. Yet that Moon was 34% illuminated at 16 degrees in Leo in the 5th house at my birth time and on Monday the moon was in Taurus and 34% illuminated. At face value these seem like small differences but astrologically they are astronomical. When the moon is in a certain sign, phase, house, position it changes the way it interacts with us and our environments. We experience things differently and our perception defines our reality. My dear fellow Priestess Morgan said it best, the moon represents the energy of the day while the moon represents the energy of about a month. When we observe the moon where it currently is, where it was at our birth, and where it will be we are able to distinguish patterns. These patterns give us the ability to better understand how we and others may behave and feel during this time. From this we are better able to create our lives. This is not a perfect system. It requires us to have faith, reflect and be systematic.

If you’re wondering how do I do this? Look no further, because at the end of this moon phase journey there will be an outline that I can share with you all on connecting with your own moon cycles. I believe this is the point of doing this work. I have found there is not anything that I do that is only for myself but for others. We need to connect with the now and be present while also planning for the future. The moon broadens our perspective. We realize as we connect with the moon that every moment is an opportunity to shift. We do not have to wait for the full moon, new moon, eclipse, birthday, or grand trine. We can act even by being still. That is the lesson I am looking to learn now.

See you all tomorrow,

-Rose

The Divination Toolkit: The Tarot Series-Death/The Reaper

Divination Toolkit Tarot Series (1)

XIII Death/ The Reaper

You look up as a figure begins to approach you from the distance. Is it a skeleton approaching you, his bones rattling in song of attraction and invitation? Or perhaps it is a figure upon a horse whose commanding presence asserts that change is inevitable and cannot be avoided. Maybe it is the striking image of the crone or Dark Goddess in one of her many forms that holds her hand out to you as you experience the death/rebirth process. Death comes in many forms, shifting to fit the needs of that time required to create the catalyst for change.

Nothing in life stays the same. We are here to grow and transform. Would you really want to be the same person you were when you were 5 when you are 65? You might want the energy and vitality but you would miss the maturity from life experiences that you gained over the years. Improvement, destruction, conflict, creation. These are all forms of change. As an Earthly concept, Death creates a cycle that renews us and our world. Synonymous with transformation, Death transmutes what already exists into forms that allow for more life flourish. Death is not an external force that acts upon us. It exists at every level of our being from our soul, energetic, physical, and mental bodies. When we embrace this concept of life/death/rebirth we allow our souls to evolve just as our physical bodies evolve.

When the Death card shows up in your reading you are in a season of change. This could be through the release or death of one situation so that another can be born. It could also come in the form of you birthing a new space or state of being. Allow this to happen. Embrace it. Take a moment and decide what you would like for your world to look like. You are in the space of creation. Be a creator and manifest the life you deserve. Death is a beautiful thing it just depends on your perspective.

Reverse:

The Death card in reverse indicates that you are in a place of stagnation. You are either resistant to or avoiding change. This could be intentional or unintentional. Sometimes we are conscious of wanting to keep things the same because we find comfort in familiarity. Other times we subconsciously sabotage opportunities to move forward in life by holding on to old relationships, feelings, perspectives, and material items. We think that things just aren’t working out for us because of external factors when in fact we are placing ourselves in circumstances to maintain our status quo. We are not facing the shadow of who we are so we stay in the same place. Year after year repeating the same patterns. When the Death card shows up in reverse in your reading, look around you to see what you are holding on to that needs to be released. What do you need to let die to more on in life? If you feel there is nothing you are holding on to seek the insight of trusted friends, family, or peers.

Numerology and Astrology:

The number thirteen is feared by many because of its misrepresentation over time. Thirteen is the number of renewal. Those who align with the vibration of the number 13 have lives that are filled with persistent change. You have the temperament to handle being in a state of rebirth so that it energizes you instead of depletes you. Change for you is growth. It is a mark of moving forward in life. You, in turn may act as a Reaper or Death. You arrive to transform the lives of those you encounter. A balanced number thirteen also acts as the bringer of life. You take people, situations, and ideas that have died and breathe life back into them. Removing the bits that don’t work and inspiring those around you to develop a new world. Death is associated with the sign of Scorpio who rules the underworld. Scorpio calls for us to embrace change through releasing that which does not serve us. This is channeled through Earth as the only planet that we know of so far, where death is experienced.
