Rest: New Moon in Taurus

Hello lovies!

I’ve fallen fully into the energy of the New Moon in Taurus by answering the call to rest and appreciate the world around me. This might have felt like a call to spend time with friends, family, and loved ones including some “me” time. Here’s a quick breakdown of where the planets are for the new moon. I found as I tried to sit down and write out all the elements of this phase, that I just wanted to rest. To read, have a warm drink, eat comfort food, be outside and sleep. All in all this seemed to sum up Taurus energy in a healthy space taking into account my own energetic needs and cycles. To take ownership of who I am and what I have been blessed with.

What a delightful message from Taurus, that beauty is not all about the physical but holistic in nature. We are beautiful when we let our true selves shine.

I’ve been reading up on all of the astrology things. I love to explore my own chart but I realized I was avoiding signs that were not prominent in my chart, such as all of the Earth signs. Reading up on their magic and what they bring to the zodiac has been so refreshing. Another element of this new moon is to explore areas of interest that you may have avoided. You might find that embracing a slower pace of appreciation allows you to dig deeper into your talents and interests. Tackle some of the mysteries and fears from this brave space of Taurean peace and security.

Taurus energy in the house y’all! Stability, grounding, and ownership of all that lovely Aries energy from the start of the year. Taurus in the 8th house is considering how what we have inherited, such as our personal talents, define our values. On a greater level, we are looking at how our sense of self is impacted by what we have inherited from our families, communities, and environment.

Read over this quickly and then go for a walk or take a nap. Take care of yourself.

Enchantment: The Power of Winter

Greetings beloveds,

I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season. There’s so much magic available to us at this time. This is the liminal space of the 8th gate. Past the complete release of the 7th gate where we are judged by our own heart, body, and soul. This judgement is an assessment. It is a an unfiltered look at our actions, words, thoughts, and desires. We are always found guilty. Guilty of living, loving, and being fully present in the 3D. The outcome releases us from that density where now we can be free to design our next steps.

  • Create: paint, draw, write, read, cook
  • Rest: sleep in, take a walk, visit friends, take a trip
  • Cleanse: the body through food, the mind through meditation, the soul through gratitude, your space through decluttering/donations

Most importantly take that leap of faith into the 8th gate to release your dreams and highest aspirations.

New Moon in Sagittarius: The Power of the Pause

Greetings beloveds,

Sagittarius season is here! This fire sign brings us into the energy of the Holiday season. A time for celebration and renewal. All the hard work that we’ve done over the year has come to a pause. You lift your head to take in those final rays of light as we head towards the longest night. The encroaching darkness calls us in. Pulling us away from our projects and towards warm cozy moments of family (chosen and blood).

Sagittarius is the final fire sign of the year. It gives us the energy to enter into the darkest season, to pass through the 7th gate of the underworld into death. Kali, leads the way using her many gifts to provide us with the support that we need. She stands to wait for us at the 6th gate to welcome us back once we have regained the bread and waters of life. This is a time of year where we experience our guardians through love. Our ancestors, angels, spirit guides, ascended masters, family, friends, and familiars are with us always. This season look for them in the things that make you feel warm and loved. Is it a cup of hot chocolate, a good book, twinkling lights and holiday decorations? Each time your eyes land on a thing of beauty and your heart fills with joy know that your guardians are there with you, reveling in this celebration of life.

Finally, were there some conversations that you put off over the past year? Now is a great time to approach these people or topics again. Give that person a call, write that book/article/poem/song, start that spiritual practice (conversation). Mercury went direct on the 6th countered only by Uranus being in retrograde until January 2019. Things are moving. Go with that. Allow it to happen. Remember the comfort to the lights, your family, and your guardians? They are still there wanting you to share what has been in your heart. From this you will gain knew perspectives and knowledge as Sagittarius is the Great Scholar. This wisdom will guide you as we enter the underworld on the 21st.

Much love!

The Energy of Winter

winter

Greetings beloveds,

Here’s a revised version of the energy of Winter. Enjoy!

Winter – A time of rest where we set our intentions, hopes, and goals for the upcoming time of movement during the spring. A time for personal development, to heal, do shadow work, and get in touch with your emotions through physical movement and the body. Winter gives us a chance to create plans, gather information, and design an action plan.

According to the Chinese five elements system, winter is associated with the element of water. Water is a conduit of energy associated with adaptability and fluidity due to its ability to shift it’s form depending on the environment in which it finds itself. Water is an abundant element within our world. In fact, our physical bodies and the Earth are composed mostly of water. How well do you understand yourself in relationship to the water of this world as well as your body? Winter provides the perfect opportunity for you meditate on these questions and study the element of water.

Spending time in nature also provides many lessons about the process of creating life. During the winter, the Earth in that hemisphere is in hibernation.  It appears to be inactive and still. The stillness draws us in, encouraging us to want to better understand ourselves as well as the world around us. Although it seems that the world is still during this time, it is actively growing within its womb the manifestations of life to come forth in the spring. Do you remember how a seed grows? The warm earth combined with the moisture of the soil interacts with the needs of the seed to slowly pull the life from within it’s shell. The Earth nurtures that life until the world above it has shifted to provide an environment through which the plant can thrive. Over the years we have shifted our attention and respect away from the Earth and its feminine energy to the Sun as the masculine. We shy away from the Earth’s time, just as we shy away from the power of the Divine Feminine’s shadow side. Learning to love the Earth, particularly during the colder months, is one way to access the feminine and to understand how she functions, loves, manifests, and creates change.

New Years-Winter Solstice

Those who follow a Wiccan or Celtic path may honor the new year during Samhain as that is when the veils between the worlds are thinnest. As a Priestess of the Dark Goddess though, winter solstice is the perfect time to commune with the Divine while you are within the underworld. This is also a great time to design your intentions, goals, and plans for the next year. As the longest night of the year, the extended period of darkness corresponds with the depths of our subconscious. Our subconscious holds our deepest desires and unconscious drives. Through exploration of these aspects of ourselves we can determine the path through which we can heal and grow to achieve our dreams.

Here’s an example of how I prepare for the upcoming year using ritual and tarot/oracle cards. During my Winter Solstice ritual I enjoy using a tarot deck in a Celtic cross spread to understand the main focus of the upcoming year. Then I use an oracle deck for a seasonal spread to get an idea of what my main focus for each season will be. I pull 5 cards, the first card representing the general energy of the next year, then a card for each season. For example, in 2017 my general energy was Hekate and Illumination through a journey in the Underworld. Then as every season changes during the upcoming year I pull new cards. One new general energy reading and three more for each month in that season. This system allows for me to remain engaged in my spiritual practice throughout the year without getting overwhelmed with a large ritual every time the season changes.

How do you flow with the season during the winter? What are you rituals for Winter Solstice?

Connecting to the Divine Feminine: Winter

winter

Greetings beloveds,

Today we will discuss seven easy ways to connect to the Divine Feminine during the Winter.

  1. Winter solstice is the perfect time to commune with the spirits while you are within their realm-the underworld. As the longest night of the year, this is the time when you are in the depths of the underworld are easiest to access.
  2. According to the Chinese five elements system winter is associated with the element of water. During the winter months it’s recommended that you study the element of water.
  3. Connect to the Earth- We’ll cover this more later in the season.
  4. Create nurturing rituals which draw on the element of earth, water, and warmth. This could include warming drinks, hot meals, snuggling under throws, lighting a fire, or taking a hot shower or bath.
  5. Dress in coats, wraps, and accessories in deep earth tones, cool blues, white, green, red or any color that reminds you of winter.
  6. Meditate on the energy of winter and personal development. What areas of your life are calling for your attention? Where do you need to nurture yourself?
  7. Set aside time each day to rest. During the winter, although externally the world may be resting, internally we are healing and growing. In the Winter, we are encouraged to go within and rest just as the feminine does through various myths of the underworld.

Let me know how you connect with the Divine Feminine during the Winter!

Winter Solstice 2017 Love Reading: Rest, Abundance, and Birth

Winter Solstice Love Reading

Merry Winter Solstice beloveds,

Today we look at the energy of love for the winter season. Over the past year many have experienced shifts in their relationships with themselves and each other. If you are finding that your heart is in need of care practice heart opening exercises and rituals. Love is always seeking us out. Doing whatever is necessary to let us know that we are loved and cared for. This winter, embrace your soul mate. This could be you and your soul uniting, your light and your shadow, a romantic, platonic, family, or other type of relationship. Do not limit your thoughts of love to just romantic or sexual partnership. There are so many ways that we express love. Perhaps you have animal friends, places in nature, books, cars, or even tv shows that make your soul and heart fill with light. That is love. Be there and hold that space within you.

January: The theme for Winter overall focuses on taking time off to come back into alignment with yourself. Make space for yourself. Rather that’s quiet time in the morning, during the day, or at night make yourself a priority. You have done quite a bit of work this year and it’s time to let all of that be set in your mind, body, and soul. There is magic in between the breath. Span that moment into eternity. Rest.

February: You’ve taken the time to relish the pause. Your breath is deep and filling. You close your eyes and memories of your life spring forth. Images of you in your perfect for you life surround you making you gleam with light. When you open your eyes, does the external world reflect what you saw? Were they memories of what could be or what is? I know that following your dreams can be intimidating and scary but so is the thought of never taking that chance. During your time of rest and rejuvenation focus your energy on that life, on your purpose, on your spirit. Focus there until it becomes second nature. Soon it will be time to move these dreams from the astral realm to this one.

March: Winter is coming to an end. The sun is shining and the days are becoming longer. What did you dream of over the last two months? It is time to move from visualization to actualization. The time of gestation has allowed for the details of what you desire to become clear. You have worked out different paths and ways that this could come forth. You’ve experienced synchronicities which have helped to show you the way. Do you feel the tension rising? The energy quickening. Your breath becomes deep and fast. You feel the desire to push this new life, idea, perception out into the world. Prepare, take a deep breath, and release.

Reflections: Exiting the Cage with a Roar

Greetings beloveds,

August was quite a whirlwind was it not? Did you make it out the other side or are you still standing at the door of the Lion’s Gate? This month has been amazing. Who would think that so much could occur over 31 days? We are heading towards fall and you can already feel the change in the energy as the full solar eclipse and mercury retrograde has caused for us to slow alllll the way down.

This month we will continue to review books, astrology, and numerology. This includes analyzing the new moon in Pisces and the full moon in Virgo. What’s more we will examine the general, love, masculine, and feminine energy of Fall. If you want your own energy reading for the new season you can order a reading here at The Bliss Institute etsy shop. With us now being in Virgo season we are all assessing where we stand in relation to our dreams and goals. As the days get shorter and the nights longer this gives us time to reflect further on who and what we would like to be. I hope that this September gives you a rest from the hectic energies of Summer and welcomes you to Fall.

With love,

-Rose

Moon Phases: Waning Crescent Part III-The Final Breath

autumn moments (1)

Greetings beloveds,

Today the moon is waning crescent at 3% illuminated moving from Gemini to Cancer. We have just moved through the sun sign of Cancer so we get a short unconscious boost of Cancer energy before the Moon becomes new in Leo.

As we complete the end of the crescent and the light slowly dims this makes us reminiscent of the death process. We are continuously experiencing endings and beginnings. Even with smallest event of breathing we create life through inhalations and release life through exhalations. It is an organic process that all experience here in this dimension and on Earth. The Waning Crescent moon is that final bit of air left in the lungs before the empty. It is our moment before we pass the 7th gate and enter the underworld. We are standing before the judges and will surrender our flesh to the meat hook. As Inanna has shown us it is through the journeys into death that we are able to let go of that which we no longer need and move to the 8th gate.

The 8th gate is something that was shown to me in the spring. My fellow co-priestesses and I ventured past the 8th gate to a space of rest and rejuvenation. That is the energy of the new moon. There you are given the chance for 1 or 2 days to review your life. To take a break from all the work that we do while under the guidance of the moon’s other phases. Tomorrow we will find that we are in a joyful space of creativity, imagination, and movement. We will want to find activities that support our desire to shine in the world and live our truth through our life purpose. If you find yourself still feeling a bit down take a moment and breathe. Sit on the couch, go out in nature, spend time with friends, or drink tea and have cookies in bed. Do what gives you that feeling of security and courage. The Lion is preparing to roar, so push the last of the air from your lungs. Place your hand upon the Lion’s head and prepare to be bold, brave, and majestic. Welcome to the New Moon in the 8th Gate.

Moon Phases: Waning Gibbous Part IV

autumn moments (1)

Greetings beloveds,

Today the moon is 59% illuminated in Aries. There is an energy of new beginnings, growth and movement today. As my back has healed I have been able to move more and be more active. Strangely, I have wanted to spend more time resting and doing pleasurable activities then some of my other duties. I did complete my meditation for the day after a gift to myself of self-pleasure. As we near the new moon and along with it my upcoming menstruation time, I feel myself wanting to experience more pleasure. I feel playful, joyous, and full of life. I know that now is a time to replenish my energy before I become active again. So today I took a break. I ate yummy food, watched good movies and spent time with a good friend. It was delightful. It will be interesting to see if as the moons energy moves into Taurus whether I will feel more drawn into spending time at home.

Tonight I will connect with the moon as an active principle as opposed to the more reflective role it is generally given. How does the moon guide us and move us to create? I’ll meditate on this further tonight and share what I find tomorrow.

Moon Phases: The Root and Sacral Energy Centers

autumn moments (1)Greetings beloveds,

Yesterday was a bit rough but it did solidify that I have to work on my connection to physical body. I know when I started this effort to connect with the moon that I did not expect for this to be the outcome. I suppose opening to mind to the fullness of what is connected to the moon is the reason I was called to engage in this work. Movement is sacred to the moon. I’m finding that I am more aware of the movements that I make unconsciously because they are just rote memory now. The pain has brought me awareness. Walking a certain way makes my back twinge. Turning quickly comes with a flash of pain. Standing in one position for extended time periods is hot and dull. I now understand the power of my pelvis, lower spine, root, and sacral chakra. I understand how when this area is out of synch this causes for the rest of my body to not be able to function at its’ best. Holistic health is necessary. Aligning the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical bodies brings true health. Understanding that this is a life-long process that is never complete allows space for grace, compassion, and empathy for oneself and others.

I knew that I needed to check in with my energy centers. I honestly had not done so in a couple of weeks. I laid down as my back had been stressed from standing so long to wash my curly natural hair. I snuggled under the covers, my hair wrapped in a soft microfiber towel. I was content, safe, and comfortable with my neck well supported and my feet placed on the wall, thighs parallel to the bed. I closed my eyes and proceeded through my meditation sequence. I take deep breaths for the count of 5 until I feel my thoughts calm and my body settle. If I am feeling particularly stressed I will slowly tense and relax each portion of my body starting at my feet and moving up the rest of my body.

I brought my consciousness to my root energy center. I felt nothing for a moment. Then a slight twinge. I gently sent soft golden energy there to awaken that portion of my body. The energy began to swirl gently, slowly. I placed a ball of light around it to enclose it in energy. Once it felt secure I moved upwards to the sacral point. This one was active but hot. It felt tired and worn out. I again sent it golden waves of energy to empower it. I also sent it cool waves of blue energy to soothe and calm the frustration it experienced from being too active without acknowledgement and rest. I then let this area rest bringing my attention to my energetic body. It thrummed with life. I let that hum lull me into a state of complete rest and surrender. I found myself drifting off and offered up a prayer to the God and Goddess for health, peace, and awareness of my connection to all that exists around me.

It is easy to get caught up in the day to day activities. I am attempting to create a space with my fellow Priestesses where those who follow different paths related to the Divine can gather in peace. A space for the Goddess in her many forms to be honored. This has taken a tremendous amount of energy to birth and the temple is still just in the development stages. Yet, I have not been caring for the spaces within myself that provide this creative energy. Balance was needed and balance was sought. The moon sees through the distractions that can claim our attention that are so bright during the day. She watches us through her steady gaze gently pulling on our form to glance up even for a bit to gather a bit of her wisdom. Without the balance of activity and reflection, day and night, life and death we are incomplete. Existing but not experiencing, living, thriving. So we slow down. Look up at the dark night, sliver of light, or full moon and see that we are whole. We just must bring our awareness back to that truth.
