Move Like Air: Part 1 The Movement of Breath

The Movement like Air

Greetings beloveds,

It’s finally happened! Texas has finally experienced a cool front and that means that everyone wants to be outside. This is a great time to start or restart your movement practice. Since fall is ruled by the element of air, we are looking at movement that brings our attention to our breath. I know for me I always become aware of my breath while practicing intentional walking, jogging, or running. I say intentional walking, because for many folks walking is their primary mode of moving their body from one place to another. Because it is something we do all the time, it becomes an automatic behavior. We do not have to think about all the systems that are necessary for our bodies to allow for us to walk. Yet, if for any reason we are unable to move in that manner or our attention is brought to the physical systems involved in that form of movement. When we intentionally walk, we are bringing our attention to our organs, muscles, breath, and energy while moving.

Anytime we focus on our attention on something it gives it power. Not power over us, but power to be utilized and amplified. We then can decide what we would like to do with that power. Sometimes you need to circulate that energy internally other times you may need to perform a little magic to enhance your external world. The choice is yours. What is important is to make the decision to take the action. Even if it is just to clear your mind, movement that can shift your energy is a way to improve your well-being. What is even more magnificent is that breath itself is a form of movement. If possible take in this beautiful weather through some intentional breath, walking, or running. We will cover some specific techniques in our next post on movement during the fall.

Have a beautiful day,

Autumn Arrives: Shifting the Energy of Your Home from Summer to Fall

20170924_164228-01

Greetings beloveds,

It’s finally here! My favorite season and not just because my birthday is in October. Here’s an excerpt on the energy of Autumn

Autumn – What a beautiful time of the year when the world has been scorched clean and is preparing to rest for regeneration. The world is again at a balanced state with the day and night again being of amounts. Yet this energy is distinct from the spring time as it marks the rise in darkness and decline of the light. Everything is beginning to slow down from the activity that was present during the summer. As such you may be feeling the need to slow down a bit as well taking in the last bits of sun before the weather truly begins to cool. Leaning towards spending more time indoors as the energy shifts from coming from the sun to being generated by the Earth that grew from the suns rays lovingly holding that heat for us until we release it through transmutation. This applies also to the foods that we consume at this time. These foods are rich and heavy because of the density of their energy that is packed tightly in order to give this energy to you through integration from being eaten.

The element of Autumn is metal within the Chinese system and although there is no air included in this framework metal holds many of the same characteristics. Metal is associated with the nose and the sense of smell. The air holds life just as much as water, wood, fire, and  earth. Air flows bringing subtle or drastic winds of change to us all. Sweeping away our completed works and driving us to come within from the coming chill. As such the focus is on the lungs and large intestines during this time. Breath rules these areas as the air gives life to fuel the rest of our body as well as move the waste from our lives through the large intestine. If you find yourself feeling sluggish it is never to late to release. Breathe deeply through one of the many forms of meditation that exists such as walking, mindful activities, breath work, or dream work.

Autumn Equinox- Entering the Underworld

20170924_163805-01

I will cover more about entering the underworld later but you can read the rest of that blog post here. One of my favorite parts about fall is it’s signature scents, decor, food, and fellowship. The aroma of apples, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and of course pumpkin begins to fill the air. Accent colors and decorations shift from beige, blues, and greens, to yellows, oranges, red, and brown. Leaves and gourds replace shells and nautical themes. Autumn is here.

Using these few tips one can quickly shift the energy of your home, office, or even car to feel more like fall. Another easy way to accomplish this is to open your windows releasing the summer air and welcoming in the fall breezes. I always change out my altar decorations and this always puts me into the energy of the next season. What’s your favorite way to shift the energy of your home from summer to autumn? Full Moon in Aries: Can You Stand on Your Head?

It’s our full moon in Aries! Whoo we are feeling the movement and letting it guide us towards our biggest desires. When we begin to expand this can cause us to meet resistance in the form of hostility from others around us. Sometimes when we grow and change it makes others uncomfortable because they are not used to us behaving in this way. We might also begin to self-sabotage. Finding ways to keep ourselves from reaching our full potentials because it’s safer to stay small. If you find yourself feeling jealous of others, frustrated with yourself, or having lots of people be hard on you or difficult this is the time to harness the energy of Aries. Face your fears and stand up for yourself. It’s time to be true to who you are. If you are behaving in a way that harms others take that step back and access what you can do to improve how you treat yourself/others.

This fire will be burning through you bringing you experiences of heightened love, creativity, and self-expression. Find the things that bring you joy and make you smile. Staying true to yourself is the key to manifestation as represented by the tale of Coatlicue the Aztec Goddess of Life and Death. Coatlicue birthed the sun, moon, stars and hundreds of other children. After becoming pregnant from a ball of feathers with the God of war, sacrifice, and the sun Huitzilopochtli, her daughter Coyolxauhqui decapated Coatlicue to save them from Huitzilopchtli. Yet, upon her death Huitzilopchtli emerged prepared to serve his purpose. This story illustrates how we have multiple opportunities to follow our calling. That even when it might seem that the world is working against you, it might be just what you need to be free.

You too can harness this energy of transforming the negative into the positive energy as well. There are several ways to accomplish this. One thing you can try is focusing on finding neutral ground in the situation (all things are energy). This will make it so you leverage every action into a form of support for your desires. A second tactic is to appreciate everything that happens to you good and bad. This feeds your shadow giving it the acknowledgment that it seeks so that you are less likely to self-sabotage or become subject to others influence.

Coatlicue lived her life according as she pleased knowing that there must be balance. So as there will be times when you are receiving everything you have ever wanted there will be times when it seems that everything is going wrong. This is the time of greatest power. Keep your head (lol) and use this to your advantage.

Happy full moon loves!

Fall Equinox Reading: Reaping Abundance

Copy of Autumn Equinox

Welcome to fall lovebugs!

It’s pouring rain as I write. The days are getting shorter and the temps are slowly dropping. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread, and soups of every kind are advertised everywhere. Although, it was still summer, the stores have been full of fall décor. Energetically, we are slowing down. Taking more time to see, feel, and be in the world around us. We move from our external to an internal focus. It calls us to see ourselves as more than feeling beings but thinking logical persons who can take their emotions and will power to turn it into more. To be more than just selfish beings that live for creating an amazing world for themselves but a General Reading.

This fall look at the areas of your life where you are flourishing. Have you been writing, drawing, working on a business, decorating, saving up funds for a trip or purchase. Whatever you have been working towards over the past 2 seasons is starting to blossom into a bountiful harvest. At this time, clear out what you picked up over the summer that is taking your attention but not building towards your greater goals.

October

October sees us prospering! We are growing, expanding and dreaming of even more ways to bring more love, money, and community into our lives. But are you too comfortable? Are you afraid to break out of your routine to see what else might be available for you? This is a time to explore your perspective towards limits. When we avoid or resist expansion we are expressing that we do not trust ourselves or the universe to provide. Examine where you can grow and begin to put out some feelers. You never know what can come from taking a step on faith.

November:

November shows us the power of community and networking. We are not solitary beings even if we do not have many human connections, the plant and animal kingdom are just as important to our well-being. Take time to build and support your community. As we enter into the season of thanksgiving, give thanks for things big and small that bring you joy. The more that you express how much you enjoy your life and world the more that you will receive more positive experiences. At best, it will make the negative experiences less impactful.

December:

We focused on our community in November and now as we are in the depths of the underworld we are called to look at our personal stories. This month write down you current life story. What happens to you during the day? What thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations did you experience today? Now, around the 20th as we get closer to the winter solstice, spend a day or so dreaming of what you would like your life to look like. Write out what a day, week, month, or even a year would look like for you if you were living completely from a space of expansion and love. Find items that represent this energy and place them on your persona altar to be energetically charged over the winter.

This is a season of getting our thoughts clear. I love you.

Decorating the Home for the Celebration Season

Decorating for Celebrations

Greetings beloveds,

I have been prepping for Thanksgiving and know soon I will changing the decorations for Winter Solstice and New Years. Although my mother is the real tactile artist in our family (my sis is the musical genius), I did learn from her how to create a cozy home for the various seasons. Here’s some of my tips for quick and easy ways to decorate your home for the celebration season.

  • Add or change your throws, blankets, or afghans on your couches or beds. You can add green, red, gold, silver, or patterns that reflect your favorite seasonal trends.
  • Create a tablescape in the colors that you associate with this season. I have a simple china pattern for Thanksgiving with fall colored charges, a fall themed table cloth, and green napkins. I then change to my Winter Solstice china from Mikasa, a gold brocade tablecloth, and white napkins. You can be as elaborate or simple as you like.
  • Purchase small signs from your favorite store with sayings such as joy, thankful, grateful, peace, or any other saying that you find to put you in the mood for the season.
  • Another great way to decorate is to add candles, essential oil diffusers, or melts with seasonal scents. Smell is such a powerful sense which can be used to create atmosphere and memories.

Sometimes we have difficulty during the holidays because of painful memories. Although we cannot change the past, we can make the present delightful to create new memories. These small changes make powerful opportunities to be a new person to embrace what has been and become who we desire to be. Take the time and make this season magical for you. You’re worth it.

Entering the Underworld: Hello October

Copy of Autumn Equinox Love Reading

Greetings beloveds,

It’s my birthday month! The best month of the year (I kid…kind of). I will be 30 this year and I am feeling excited but also driven to really connect to my purpose and path. I found that after my Saturn return in Jupiter ended it felt like a weight lifted from my shoulders. All the things that felt like they were weighed down with cement blocks began to flow. I felt this same shift happen after the eclipse and new moon. I opened up to receiving the information and next steps to take to achieve my purpose. At this time I will only share that it is connecting to the death/rebirth cycle and practices. As I gain more clarity on the process I will be sure to let you all know.

October brings us a new full moon cycle with the Full Moon in Aries on the 5th. This full moon gives us the chance to give some good start up energy to what we would like to shine more light on over this next full moon cycle. The cardinal energies of Aries and Libra come together to bring us new beginnings and balance through justice. Remember you can decide at any time to change your fate. Every moment is a new beginning. Towards the end of the month we have the New Moon in Libra on the 19th. Wooo a time for setting intentions focused on luxury, beauty, and harmony. If you find that you are not experiencing that in life this new moon will show you what needs to be released to obtain that state of being.

This month at the Bliss Institute we are heading into the underworld with the support of several Goddesses of Life and Death. We will introduce to you four more Goddesses who will play a prominent role in the work of The Bliss Institute in 2018. We will also being exploring fall energy in the home, spirit, and body in order to move us further into that underworld state of being, As the fall equinox also marks the time when the day and night are equal this is the perfect time to cover our 10th Universal Law of Polarity.

October is going to be all about balance and I cannot wait to see how the scales level themselves over the next few weeks.

With love,

-Rose

Autumn Equinox Feminine and Masculine Energetic Readings: From Chaos comes Power- From Darkness comes Light

20170825_090827Greetings beloveds,

Fall will be a season of renewal through death. It is an old process that the Earth is well aware of but that modern society has pushed from its consciousness due to modern industry, technology, and agriculture. Psychologically, the need to go within and have time to reflect, release, and create still calls upon us. This fall, we find ourselves in deep reflection. This has been a year of great change, re-calibrating, and the universal reveal of the shadow. Issues such as racism, sexism, classism, judgement, shaming, fear mongering, scarcity mindset, and abuse tactics have reared their head this entire year forcing us to face what we may have previously been able to at best ignore. There are many choices available to us on how to interact with this energy. The wheel of fortune is resetting and we are nearing the point when the cycle will reach its start point. We have examined our patterns and now I hope that we are all able to utilize mechanisms that honor our own and each others sovereignty.

This fall take the injustices, the fears, the anger, the sadness all the feelings that you have experienced over the past year and let them bring you to a place of action guided by integrity and spirit. Find a space where you can unite with others to bring peace, love, and justice to the world around you. Ground yourself in energy that is geared towards sustainability, holistic health, and wellness. These will assist you as you turn to face your fear this season. There is a power in naming that which has control of us. Be wise about the attention or energy that you give to your fears. This could strengthen them. Instead, take time to find out the root of your fears and begin to dismantle them. This may need to be done under the supervision of a trained professional counselor or therapist. If you find yourself becoming overwhelmed immediately see out support from your community and professionals.

October

If your fear surrounds expansion, that you are not good enough, that you cannot succeed in making your dreams come true, this month will bring you opportunities to call your fears bluff. Why do you play small? Why do you not reach for the stars? Perhaps you are concerned with what others will think of your dreams or your passion. Or maybe you do not think that what you want to do will be “practical” enough to afford you to pay your bills and survive. Whatever your fears are October is the time to turn to them and laugh in their face. Not a mocking laugh but one of joy and ecstacy. Make your projects and passion fun. Fully embrace what makes them appealing to you. There is a reason that you were born. There is a reason that you feel called to follow your dreams. When you feel restricted remember what makes you feel free about this endeavor. What liberates you about your passion. Let that be what drives you. If all else fails, find songs, clothing, art, food, or some other form of entertainment that represents your desire and go full out with it. Dance all night, have elaborate dinners with yourself or your friends, head to the costume shop and dress as your favorite character. Live it up my loves. This is the month to find the joy in your dreams. Let your heart be your guide.

November

From the chaos will come love and then law. The world is continuing to be pulled a part. Everything is being put into alignment and that can look like chaos. It is time be honest about who you are, where you are, and what you want. Love must be accompanied be trust if not to create pain. Trust is built upon sharing intimacy, our truth, and our fears. Intimacy can be one of the things that we fear the most. Allowing another to see us for who we truly are. The survivor, the monster, the hypocrite, the liar, the adulterer, insecure, insane, neurotic, needy, demanding, or broken. All parts of who we may be that we do not want others to see. We want to appear as completely put together. Or at least holding things together well enough to not appear as out of control. We hide the chaos of our true selves under many layers of our more “positive” traits.

Or perhaps we do not hide our chaos. Perhaps we put it all out there. During this age of social media there are more channels than ever to share our truth with everyone. Sharing and integrating are very different things though. You may know someone who has no trouble letting you know all of their flaws and the hardships that they face. Yet it seems that they remain in these cycles over and over. You wonder how? Are we not to face and speak our truth? We can acknowledge something or pay lip service to it and never attempt to change things.

This November that time is up. The truth of our beings will be placed upon the scales of justice and Maat will see you now. Get yourself into alignment. There are 42 Laws of Maat, because when chaos began to shift into order Maat was formed to create and judge the laws upon which the world revolved. Will your scales be balanced? If not make the necessary changes. Know this though that the only one who can balance your scales is you. The same is true for everyone else. You cannot balance someone else scales. They must do their own work. They must own their own work. If you find one of your scales is unbalanced then perhaps you are carrying too much weight. Is it yours? If not they it is time to place that weight where it belongs. Give it back to who it belongs to. Taking ownership of our truth and our scales is justice. When we must carry the full weight of who we are that is judgement. You can balance your scales and in doing so you will achieve justice.

December

Over the past two months you have journeyed deep within the underworld. You have faced your fears and balanced your scales. What did you find when you did this work? How are you feeling now? We are nearing the point of the darkest night of the year. Do you feel the depth of yourself? The complexities of who you are and what you can be? Within the shadows of yourself have you found the light? Even if it is just a sliver, it is there. The truth of the shadow is that it cannot exist without the light. Your fears could not exist without your dreams, hopes, and desires. Within this work that you have done this season, find your power. That light that lies within the shadow is strong enough to exist within the darkness. That same light and power exists within you. When you face those fears you take back the power that they had over you. You can then harness that power to manifest what you dream of. Why do you think so much of our society is based upon creating fear in us? So that others who know how to work with that energy can harvest it to create empires. Go within, enter the darkness, face your fears, and find the light of power that exists there. Then, following the winter solstice as the light of the world begins to return bring that power back with you out of the underworld and into your reality.
