28 Days of Love: The Sacral Energy Center

sacral-chakra-colors.jpg (250×268)

Greetings beloveds,

I hope you all are having a wonderful day! Today we will be exploring the second energy center of the human form connected to the physical body and movement; the sacral chakra. The sacral energy center houses the energy of creativity, passion, sexuality, and happiness.

Our sexuality is just as tied with our thoughts as with our body. The largest sensory organ of the human form is the skin. We are aroused not just from touch but from all of our senses including our extrasensory ones such as clairvoyance. Through these avenues we take in information and energy from the world around us.  The sacral energy center is one area through we can transmute energy to create and manifest our desires. It is the void where in new life can come forth. Let us not limit ourselves to a simplistic understanding of new life as the actual birth of a child. Let us look at life through an energetic lens. In that case all that exists or could exists lives. Thus we birth ideas, books, hopes, dreams, homes, businesses, societies, relationships, anything and more than we could ever dream of. This is why it is so important to nurture and balance our sacral energy center. For when our sacral center is out of balance we continue to manifest yet instead of the things we would like to come forth we find ourselves in situations and experiences we would rather avoid. It is in accordance to the 12 Universal Laws which do not see good and bad only the energy that we send out.

daa42dc2a549f6ce6fd9e8455948c852.jpg (236×254)

Activating the sacral energy center will not only increase your ability to manifest (hopefully things you desire) but regulates our creativity energy in general. When that energy is clear and flowing we feel inspired, creative, renewed as if we can do anything. When the energy becomes stagnant you may feel yourself becoming stagnant as well. When you find yourself feeling this way it may be in relation to the amount of stress  you are experiencing. Stress is defined as any emotional or mental tension from adverse circumstances that one may not generally encounter. As you can tell from the general definition anything can be stressful depending on one’s perspective. This is why the practice of caring about how you feel is so important. A sure fire way to connect to your feelings and learn to be guided by your intuition is to connect to your sacral energy center.

I hope you’ll stop by tomorrow as we look at one last portion of our energy and the physical through kundalini.

With love,

28 Days of Love- The Root Energy Center

warrior-root-vibration.jpg (640×640)

Greetings beloveds,

We have been getting into the nitty gritty here at The Bliss Institute examining the many ways that we can show ourselves and each other love through our physical forms. Now we are going to take a look at the energy centers related to our physical being starting with the root.

The root chakra or energy center is our grounding foundation of our being. It is the first energy center located at the base of our forms at the base of our spine. Others have noted the root chakra’s location at the perineum. Neither of these may not be the space where you feel energy moving though so it will be useful to get to know your own energetic form. Thought of as the start of a vortex of spiraling energy, the root energy center is connected with the coccyx or the tailbone. Often associated with the color red, the root chakra is our connection to the earth that nourishes and feeds us. Just as the earth represents our physical home, the root chakra is activated by any type of physical activity that we participate in. Anything that gets our body moving get our root energy center going as well.

Our root chakra houses our basis of stability, security, safety, and survival. If we were to liken this to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs this would be a combination of the physiological and safety levels. We find that our primitive instincts towards ensuring our survival are activated with this chakra. Thus housing or shelter, food and protection are the main concern here. When these areas are not in balance or flowing in harmony with our overall energy then we feel that our lives are at risk. This can mean physically, energetically, emotionally, or mentally there is an attack we are perceiving externally or internally. This activates reactions to these threats through a variety of emotional and physical states. Anger, judgment, inactivity, over activity, scarcity mentality and experiencing a lack of connection to the world around us are all associated with a root chakra that is either over or under active.

When our root energy center is balanced we feel as if our environment is safe and secure. We view the universe as a place of abundance where we are always taken care of. I’m sure these are some appealing characteristics but one of the best ways to determine the state of one’s root is your manifestation of your dreams and desires. On a base level we are always manifesting according to what energy we put out there. If you find that it’s very easy for you to manifest your desires then more than likely your root chakra is well balanced and in tune with your overall energy. As your foundation and direct connection to the Earth as the material realm there can be a correlation between the state of your root chakra and your material manifestations. This is never the whole story so don’t discount the overall energy of the world around you but the way you feel about your ability to affect your physical self/world. Your drive for creating micro and macro change is within the root energy center. As you can tell this is a major energy point. The root doesn’t act alone and tomorrow we will cover another energy center that is closely tied to our physical being/form: the sacral chakra.

New Moon in Libra: Steady Like the Fulcrum

New moon in libra.png

Let’s talk new moon in Libra. Yes yes love yourself and each other. Blah blah reexamine your relationships and release those that don’t serve you. I’ll say as a Libra this is been a great season for me. Very busy and I’m tried all the time but just so many good things. Now yes, politics are trash lately but that hasn’t had that much of an affect on my daily emotional state. I realized that as Libra usually does once we’ve made our judgement there isn’t a drive to be emotionally invested.

Here’s a tip for this new moon in Libra and Libra season: I encourage you to behave like a Libra. Now I know some of you are like “ugh gross!” but hear me out. Libra’s are built for our current state of society. Think about it. Balance, harmony, extreme changes, discerning, the connectors of the astrological gang. When you need to bring people together you grab a Libra. Having a hard time seeing a different perspective, a Libra will argue you down on both viewpoints. Always in the crowd but in their own world. Connected enough to experience the energy of the world but detached enough to develop practical next steps. Also, they know how to practice some great self-care when they aren’t taking care of everyone else.

There’s a lot of emotional energy active right now. We’re getting ready to sllooooowww down and ground in winter, but we are making sense of what happened this summer right now. Be gentle with yourself. Make a daily schedule, meet up with friends, look at the sunset, moon, and stars. There’s so much beauty in this world but equal to that is the capacity for cruelty. We experience moments of joy and pain pulling for our attention. Clawing at us. So, here’s my Libra advice to you as you take up our mantle this season. Be the fulcrum. The scales tip and sway. They are in constant motion with every breath shifting. The fulcrum is the foundation. It holds the center so that eventually as things begin to settle down balance can be found.

Oya is the Goddess of Life and Death who made her presence very well known for this season and Libra moons. (Storms anyone?) I’ll caution you against just putting up an altar to this Orisha. She is a very powerful being and a part of a closed system. But she is here to clear some things out. Just let her do her job. I caution you to do the same. Find your purpose and follow it. Starve the distractions and stay steady like the fulcrum. Everything else around you will shift but know your truth and you will always find your path.

Oh and there’s always room for anything that makes you feel beautiful darling. You’re worth all of this hard work. And if you get tired, just give what’s left to a Virgo lol.

Never lose your sense of humor,

-Kamilah Rose

Partial Solar Eclipse New Moon in Cancer: Attachments and Forgiveness

New Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Cancer

Greetings beloveds,

Woooo it’s been quite a year so far huh? I hope that you all are taking care of yourselves. Remember self-care, self-care, self-care!! Alright here’s your breakdown for the Partial Solar Eclipse New Moon in Cancer.

  • Solar Eclipse 20 degrees Cancer – July 13, 2018
  • Solar Eclipse 15 degrees Capricorn – January 6, 2019
  • Solar Eclipse 10 degrees Cancer – July 02, 2019
  • Lunar Eclipse 24 degrees Capricorn – July 16, 2019
  • Solar Eclipse 4 degrees Capricorn – December 26, 2019
  • Lunar Eclipse 20 degrees Cancer – January 10, 2020
  • Solar Eclipse 0 degrees Cancer – June 21, 2020 (Summer Solstice/Cancer) *
  • Lunar Eclipse 13 degrees Capricorn – July 5, 2020

This is the corresponding eclipse in the Cancer/Capricorn series listed above. Cancer and Capricorn dance between the day and the night, our conscious and subconscious. Cancer takes us into the womb and the home. A space that often can serve as a safe haven as well as a space of great trauma. It all depends on our personal, familial, and ancestral experiences of home. Have you ever written the story of your family? Explored what home meant to your parents, grandparents, or great grandparents? Within our families there are patterns of behaviors, emotions, perspectives of viewing the world and each other. We inherit these things through our cellular memory and how we are raised. It is also where we develop our initial sense of self. Those formative years where home may have been a very solid real place or one that exists in our minds. Either way, home, nurturing, the womb, and the mother archetype are the themes of a Cancer Eclipse.

Capricorn moves us into our role in the world. Our our understanding of home expands to our purpose. What has shaped us creates the foundation for who we are and what we do. Yet, as we grow and mature moving through the Zodiac we begin to understand how much more to us there this beyond our home. Capricorn brings the light of the summer into the darkness of winter. That even when we feel we have gone beyond saving there is grace for us. A chance for us to try again. Ruled by the Planet Saturn, Capricorn is all about structure, stability, and purpose. What you do and who you are matters. They are always here for the come up and desire to obtain more. More growth, more power, more compassion, more love, more influence but they must have to work for what they want. They honor the struggle, the sacrifice, the upward climb. Capricorn takes the trauma from our childhood and turns it into gold. Are you ready to turn your pain into possibilities? Are you ready to hold the darkness in the light?

This new moon review what you are attached to. What are you bound to in this life? Money, love, fame, knowledge, freedom, family? What drives you and influences the decisions that you make? If you are unaware of your attachments just take note of where you spend most of your time ad what you think about the most then imagine that you must let them go. What is your reaction? You might feel relief, frightened, angry, sad, joy, or even panic. There are several forms of attachment which I will discuss in the next post.

For now, remember that love is the basis of all. It fills every part of our being. Love will keep you during these changing times. As we do our work this week we move further into our purpose. Into being at one with our multidimensional selves. As Cancer and Capricorn have shown us the separation between our light and dark, inner child and adult, work and home selves are all one. Just different facets of the same crystal.

See you on Wednesday for the New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Cancer ritual.

Soul Work: 7 Day Chakra Cleanse

Greetings beloveds,

“You’re hot then you’re cold

You’re yes then you’re no

You’re in then you’re out

You’re up then you’re down”

Katy Perry’s song describes the current state of weather pretty well huh. One day it’s raining and cold the next it’s a sunny windy hot day. Just as the season is going through some birthing pangs, we are as well. It is during this time of great change that it is wise to take a break from our normal routine to adjust. For the soul, developing a ritual or new habit can reset our energetic patterns. A simple way to accomplish this is to clear your energy centers. Here’s my 7 Day Chakra Cleanse for the Soul. Mix and match to suit your tastes/needs. I’ve found that it’s easiest to make a smoothie in the morning with the chosen foods and then eat as you feel called for the rest of the day. The morning smoothie sets the energy for the day and brings your attention towards balancing that energy center. Finish your day with a meditation of your choice.

Day 1- Root Chakra

To Sweeten: piece of chocolate, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, rose, hibiscus, raspberry, dong qui

To Cleanse: Red cabbage, beetroot, radishes, peppers, red onions, tomatoes, chillies watercress, and parsley.

Day 2 – Sacra Chakra

To Sweeten: Oranges, peaches, apricots, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves

To Cleanse: Pumpkin, peppers, carrots

Day 3 – Solar Plexus Chakra

To Sweeten: Lemon, bananas, grapefruit, mango, turmeric, calendula, milk thistle

Spring 2018 Polarity Reading: The Divine Rises as the Masculine Descends

Spring Polarity

Greetings beloveds,

Overall this spring, a time of rebirth is upon us. We are rising from the underworld and the feminine is in her prime having integrated her shadow over the winter. Although the astrological new year is upon us this does not mean that we have cut ourselves off from the wisdom of our intuition. That is the importance of bringing our polar energy into. In April, we will return to the wisdom of the waters through conchomancy. To read more about this form of divination with seashells check out this post here. If you are not near a body of water where you can find shells you can buy seashells from local craft stores. May suggests that we will need our knowledge of divination systems because things are not what they seem. We may feel stagnant or confused but if we are willing to be open to ways of knowing beyond traditional means we can gain some insight into what is going on. Gather more information and be patient. Sometimes it is best to be in he dark so that you do not interfere with the divine order. Lastly, June strengthens our connection with the feminine through the energy of Aphrodite. Find symbols such as the shells used in your conchomancy, pearls, roses, water, and items that are light pink and blue. If you do not have an area of your home devoted to Venus, Aphrodite, Oschun, or your preferred Goddess of love or sweetness then this would be a great time to do this. You may want to research creating ritual around Goddesses of love and sexuality. What connects or creates a barrier to your connection to this energy? Explore it because June brings us to a time of Venusian power. If you do not know how to best interact with this energy you will be swept away by it. Finding yourself possibly in the company of those who have mastered this energy. They will be charming, delicious, practically irresistible, self-centered, self-righteous, obsessive and jealous. Venus is the both the shadow and light side of all types of partnership whether romantic, platonic, business, or otherwise.

Masculine

Our masculine energy is experiencing a time of continued self-reflection. In Inanna’s journey through the underworld, she must find a replacement for her in the underworld to maintain her freedom. She first meets her handmaiden Ninshubur who she spares as she faithfully assisted Inanna in being rebirthed. Inanna then comes across her two sons who are both in deep mourning of their lost mother. Lastly, she comes comes upon her husband Dumuzi who has taken on the role of King with a gusto, seemingly not expressing despair for the loss of his queen. Inanna, then lets the Galla demons take him as her replacement. There is more to the story but you can read about that here. From this perspective, the masculine’s time in the underworld is during the spring and summer. In Persephone’s tale she leaves Hades, God of the Underworld, every spring to bring life back to the world. Osiris experiences a convoluted journey before taking his place as the Ruler of the Underworld indicating that his time in the conscious realm is limited as it is not his space of power. The masculine finds it’s power in spaces of reflection. As the masculine moves into the underworld let that energy find it’s peace. In April, there will be many signs which will guide you to the right path. The month of May continues to support us as we look to fulfill our life purpose. Lastly, as we are moving towards the steamy energy of spring’s fire as it meets summer’s water, what are you willing to sacrifice to move beyond your current state? As the feminine finds herself hung upon the meat hook in the underworld, the masculine is sacrificed to be reborn anew in the primordial waters of the divine mother come summer.

New Moon in Libra: The Beauty in Expansion

New Moon Readings (1)Greetings beloveds,

New moon in Libra, who dis? Ohhh the love of Libra to have balance and harmony in their worlds. Let’s of changes are coming and if you think that things are getting a little out there, just wait. I’m still on b-day celebration so this new moon reading will be short but to the point.

In general, this new moon is about reveling in what you have manifested from the hard work you’ve been doing all year. For some of us this is a time for joy, celebration, and saying oh yes give more of that. For others, it’s a “this is my life??”. It’s time to take a look around and see what you are creating. If your world is turning upside down and not in your favor, you’ve got about a week before Scorpio comes in and drags your ass to the underworld. Oh Libra is all love, fun, and beauty but they will read you with a quickness. There’s no better judge than a Libra on their throne. If you find that things are going in the direction you desire, bravo love the world is at your finger-tips. If not, it’s not too late. It’s never too late with Libra at the wheel as long as you are open, transparent, and willing to bare your soul. It’s time.

Time for honesty, time for self-care, time for you to honor yourself. In the work that I’ve done on the feminine and the masculine it’s interesting to see how really they are the same although they may appear to be very different. This new moon The Goddess steps into the spotlight in a way that cannot be ignored. She is calling for us to remember our creative ability and the energy of creation. How it is a process which starts with just a seed. What seeds have you planted? What seeds are languishing under the soil of your soul waiting for you to giving them some light so they can break free of their casing and bloom? Take a deep breath. Take several deep breaths. Go for a swim, take a nap, have sex, write, paint, sing, dance, hang with friends, cook a meal, make something. Now see what you did there? That’s creation.

Dream big. Did that? Ok now dream bigger! We live in an ever expanding world and yet we play small. Why? Fear, shame, pity, pettiness, anger, trauma, love, compassion, security or support? Shift your focus from lack to plenty. We are always birthing something (it just does not always look like what we thought it would). When it arrives look your creation straight in the eye and say well alright this is just what I wanted or alright this is something (you gotta learn to have fun with it).

Here’s a little story I’m going to share with you about our expanding world and playing small. I have 6 figure school loan debt that I hate and find to be very embarrassing. I prefer to not have to talk about or even acknowledge its existence. I make my monthly payments and hope that one day it just magically disappears. Money flows in to me pretty quickly. I get a lump sum every month for just being alive. Yet, that loan debt is the shadow behind my apparent abundance. This week I turned 30 and wanted to have a luxurious experience. Spa, hot tubs, saunas, and time in nature. I wanted it to fit my budget because I want to pay for things in cash and not add to my debt. Yet, here I am charging my room. My shadow says you want it baby, you’ll get it. Room super cheap, all other expenses paid in cash. My shadow laughs at me as I continue to drag shame around because I’ve gotten what I wanted. I know folks with no debt and can’t seem to rub two pennies together and yet I could never work again and still have enough income to support myself if I scale down my lifestyle. My debt is large because my ability to manifest is large. So I’m welcoming it in. All of it! As Carolyn Elliot says in her amazing EK work for her Influence Course (take it you won’t regret it. I’m getting on my shadows side.

Get on your shadows side. Create, expand, and find the beauty in the world around you.

Polarity, Gender and Sexual Energy

Greetings beloveds,

Last week we covered polarity here at the Bliss Institute and it inspired me to think a bit more about polarity and energy. You can read the post on Polarity here. More specifically, the relationship between the our ability to generate and create. Polarity is when there are opposite or an unequal distribution of poles, directions, charge, or energy present in an item or being. When speaking of masculine and feminine energy we find that generally these are discussed as being opposites that complement each other. Masculine energy is associated with action, direction and giving. Feminine energy, in turn, is receptive, intuitive, and introspective. These two energies represent opposite charges or ends of the poles.

Yin-Yang-Personality-Trait-Scale.jpg (550×367)

Everyone has both masculine and feminine energy. Although someone may have been assigned male or female at birth this designation does not speak to energetic polarity. Regardless of genetic makeup, gender presentation, or sexuality you will have both masculine and feminine energy. Your energy is neither equally distributed nor constant. It fluctuates depending on a variety of activities and circumstances. You can also intentionally shift your charge or through practices such as meditation, movement based practices including dance, yoga, walking, and sex. All of these activities cause for your energy to shift. It allows for a build up of energy to occur which when it reaches the threshold releases a powerful surge of creation/manifestation potential.

The electric charge you currently hold establishes your point of attraction. Masculine energy holds a positive charge and feminine energy is associated with negative energy. Not in a moral sense but simply how it interacts with the world around it. Negative energy draws in positive energy. It is the energy of the void whose space allows for new life (projects, business, love, physical items, or a child) to be developed and manifested. As the negative charge builds continuing to draw in more and more positive energy the polarity eventually reverses releasing the built up energy. From there the process starts again. Masculine energy that has a positive charge is attracted to negative energy wanting to balance it’s self out. masculine energy will give and give towards the negative charge until it has reached the point of having cleared enough space to replenish itself through the energy released from the climax.

Regardless of what energy you hold you are capable of harnessing this energy. You can figure out where your charge lies on the polar range through an examination of your actions and interactions with others. If you find that you are constantly taking on others emotions, needs, desires, or work you may have a high amount of feminine energy. Upon recognizing this you can balance out by finding someone who will allow for you to release the energy you have built up through many ways such as ritual, conversation, or activity. If you find that you are constantly giving, doing, or feel constantly energetically depleted your polarity may be out of balance and you need to either find a way to increase your energy or interact with a conductor which will exchange energy with you.

You might also choose to intentionally build this energy up with someone for the purpose of enlightenment or manifestation. In that case read up on ancient tantric practices and energetic practices. We will discuss some of these practices in November so look out for part II.

With love,

-Rose
